Sacred Monkey Forest, Ubud, Bali

Hosted within the Balinese city of Ubud, the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary steals the show. In the beautiful protected forests, you're sure to see- and interact with- a local crab-eating Macque monkey. Be smart and safe, and this could be one of the highlights of your trip to Bali.

To Do List:
  • Walk the pathways of the forest, away from the monkeys to find quiet jungle scenery.
  • Purchase (and hide) plantains from the park and feed some of the smaller monkeys. They will crawl on you if they smell- or even suspect- a plantain!
  • Be cautious of the larger monkeys, some are aggressive with large teeth. They they want a plantain- give it to them immediately!
  • Watch a feeding where the monkeys race to the rangers giving potatoes- the excitement is palpable.
