We stayed on the outskirts of Santa Rosa at Tara Bella winery for two nights. The accommodations, just above the barrel room, gave us a wonderful view of the 18-acre vineyard. From Santa Rosa, we explored Napa valley. On the hunt for California's best Malbec, we tasted a variety of California reds at both Ladera and Merryvale Wineries. This was a perfect 2-day introduction to wine country.
